**Location**:_This role could be based in any of our UK offices (either in our Wythall, London, Telford or Edinburgh offices )with time spent working in the office and at home. _

We’re currently recruiting for an Employee Relations Consultant to join our Employee Relations team here at Phoenix Group to provide technically competent advice and consultancy in the delivery of People Function services across the organisation.

**The role**
- Provide expert support and consultancy to decision makers throughout all stages of Employee Relations cases. These include cases such as performance, sickness absence, family friendly, disciplinary and grievances.
- You will coach stakeholders on organisational design including OD business cases, advising on appropriate selection criteria, supporting redundancy and TUPE consultation process through to the project completion.
- In appropriate situations you’ll confidently support the business on ‘without prejudice’ conversations through to resolution through settlement agreements.
- Coach our People Managers, often dealing with ambiguity in order to identify the key risks and issues of a situation and provide risk-based options that have a commercial focus.
- Support our People Managers to proactively manage colleagues' wellbeing, both whilst at work or during short term or longer term absence.
- Guide our people managers on getting the most from an Occupational Health referral and supporting them to put in place reasonable adjustments to facilitate a smooth return to work for colleagues.
- Use your sound knowledge of what is available through our Group Income Protection scheme, to support colleagues as early as possible with the view of helping them return.
- Proactively spot trends in the team’s activity and provide insights to appropriate stakeholders and customers to inform people plans and manager education.
- Confidently deliver manager education sessions on our processes and ways of working to support them in the ongoing effective management of their teams.
- Keep yourself up to date of changes to legislation, best practice and case law to proactively inform others and look for opportunities to adapt our processes and service offering in line with these.
- Provide guidance and advice on matters of employment policy whilst performing a governance role across policies that sit within other HR Centres of Excellence
- Lead and deliver assigned projects, typically in relation to wider Corporate and HR initiatives.

- Through your proven employment law expertise, you’ll quickly become established as a trusted advisor with all stakeholders.
- You’ll remain calm & professional in challenging situations, operating effectively within a pressured and constantly changing Matrix organisation
- Through excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll demonstrate the ability to inspire, influence and persuade others
- You’ll have the confidence to communicate and influence effectively with all stakeholders, regardless of seniority within our organisation.
- Your commercial acumen will enable you to deliver ‘outside in thinking’ to help us continually improve our service offering.Ability to work flexibly and willingness to learn and perform new tasks

**What are we looking for?**
- Proven experience in case management of all ER activities, particularly complex and potential high risk cases.
- CIPD or equivalent Employment law qualification
- Previous experience of working in a Financial Services industry is desired
