About Our Young Person

ASEND are looking for a friendly and creative tutor to support a 17 year old girl who is absolutely in love with art, being creative, likes music and enjoys swimming. She needs a patient tutor to help develop her literacy and numeracy skills; a tutor whocan get creative and combine this young person’s passion with academic work would be amazing Unfortunately, she finds being at her school overwhelming. We are supporting her at home as her medical needs have contributed to her not accessing school. This isan opportunity to really make a huge impact in her life which will allow her to become even more independent and grow as a person.

What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for inspirational tutors near West Drayton, Hillingdon to support children and young people with SEND and medical needs. We support students that have struggled to stay in the classroom or whose needs aren’t sufficiently supported at school.We tutor children face to face in a range of settings, mainly at their home, but also in schools, and community centres. You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience of working with children in a therapeutic way. One of your aims will be toengage the student in her learning, continue her educational development. ASEND tuition replaces school for these young people and is normally part-time, taking place during school hours, five days a week.
- have some experience with SEN; many of our students require someone with experience in working with people who have Autism, ADHD, Emotional and Mental Health needs, or complex medical needs
- be passionate about helping pupils overcome any barriers to learning and difficulties with engagement
- be able to build a rapport and strong relationship with children and their families and with colleagues
- ideally, have some experience of helping children with their learning
- have the ability to motivate and inspire pupils
- use a person-centred approach in their work
- make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that they plan and do
- have the determination and energy to bring about continuous improvement in mental health and confidence.
