**Regional Sales Manager - Express Distribution - North and Scotland**
**Salary up to £70K Base, Company Car or Car allowance up to 15% Bonus
- OTE £80K Laptop, Mobile**
Our client is a major player in the Express Distribution Market with a large number of branches across the UK.
**The Role**
**Job purpose**:
To ensure that the National Field Sales Channel achieves its annual revenue and profit budgets through the effective deployment of the sales strategy, business plan and delivers the standards and core values. This will be achieved by leading and drivingthe development of quality local, regional and national sales management, engaging and inspiring, strong communication with the central support teams, local and regional management.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Responsible and accountable for leading the national field sales organisation from a strategic position and also driving the tactical deployment of sales policies, processes, initiatives to deliver year on year business growth in line with the monthly,quarterly and annual budget expectations.
- Responsible and accountable for the building, developing a sales talent acquisition strategy alongside HR that both attracts and engages the right level of sales talent to deliver high performance in accordance with the group standards, behaviours and corevalues
- Influences, supports and directs market acquisition and retention strategies, in order to maximise sales performance and leverage our competitive advantage.
- Helps optimise the sales organization to drive efficiencies, high productivity and maximise our bottom-line profit contribution whilst working in consultation and collaboration with VP - Sales, Finance and Operations.
- Influences and supports setting and deploying the annual sales business plan which includes setting strategic priorities and quantitate growth strategies.
- Assists in defining, creating and executing our Go-to-Market and Channel strategy that delivers the right mix of product at the right price which is complementary to our overall business plan.
- Required to present confidently and articulately to large audiences at national and regional sales conferences and workshops delivering business strategy and sales vision which inspires and motivates.
- Lead and positively advocate change and show the necessary agility to adapt to changing market and team dynamics.
- Help create and communicate all sales and marketing campaigns and initiatives to ensure that they are fully costed, fully understood, on brand, deliver value and are delivered to the required standard.
- Supports customer strategies, contract negotiations and supply chain management strategies.
- Strategic and innovative thinking to influence and change ways of working to improve or grow business performance and maximise our margins, creating value add solutions.
- New business growth targets area achieved via the development and communication of the strategic business plan where appropriate detailing objectives, targets, milestones, deliverables and accountability.
- Grow and maintain excellent relationships with other areas to ensure company procedures are defined appropriately to meet new business needs, ensuring customer service levels are achieved and customer satisfaction maintained.
- Using established processes and inter-personal management skills co-ordinate and develop relationships both externally and internally, ensuring the growth plans and goals are developed, communicated and agreed.
- Prepare quantitative and qualitative reports for senior management as directed, ensuring that management are kept appraised of performance relative to target, budget etc.
- Monitor the overall sales revenue performance by depot and by individual sales person and the main KPIs by reference to through weekly and monthly sales reports and published information on a weekly monthly basis.
- Review the sales performance of each individual line report and depot location through a quarterly review process assessing all aspects and holding the team to account.
- Support the design and implementation of any corrective action plans to address and short falls in performance individually, regionally or nationally. Be agile in approach.
**People management responsibilities**:
- Manage a team of Sales Executives, Field Account Managers, Territory Sales Managers and Customer Development Managers who will generate, manage, develop and protect revenue, revenue quality margin within their own areas of responsibility within the allocatedsales territory.
- Responsible for the recruitment, retention, talent development and sales succession planning.
- Responsible for the team engagement, motivation and oversees all tasks and assignments.
- Generates commitment, motivation and enthusiasm for the Brand, Company and Division Inspirational leadership.
- Leads and manages the team/s, determines regional team structures, roles and performance targets in co-operation with division leadership, commercial, finance and ultimately Sales.
- Evaluates performance and takes appropriate action when and where required to address underperformance and recognise and reward success across sales compensation and recognition
**Requirements for the role**:
- **Divisional experience**:Proven industry experience with a good understanding of all aspects of distribution.
- **Functional experience**: Sales and management experience. Must be fully commercially aware with a full understanding of P&L and performance measures. Ability to plan and develop strategies, prepare and present proposals and make clear businessdecisions.
- **Geographical experience**:Knowledge of local region essential. Knowledge of UK and International regions is required.
- **Education/ Qualification/ Certifications requirements**:Minimum of GCSE standard or education or equivalent. Sales professional qualifications not essential but an advantage.
