**About the role and team** *** - An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Court of Protection Caseworker supporting the lives of people who are unable to manage their financial affairs for themselves.- Are you a compassionate, caring and organised individual with excellent project management skills, committed to improving the lives of others with the common sense and life skills to manage and oversee the financial lives of those lacking capacity?- If so, this role could just be the right role for you- Previous experience of being a Court of Protection caseworker is not essential but previous experience of managing household budgets, understanding and overseeing investments, managing property sales and purchases and arranging works to be undertaken to properties are essential skills. Your skills may be demonstrated through experience rather than formal qualification. the job would lend itself to someone who has acted or volunteered as a charity or church treasurer, a local housing officer or bank cashier or similar.- Working within a team of 10 people with administrative and secretarial support in addition, we are committed to being creative in making a materially positive difference to the lives of people who may not have anyone else to support them and supporting families to be able to concentrate on being a family rather than a budget keeper and project manager.- The main responsibilities of the role are: - setting, maintaining and overseeing household and personal budgets for clients; - paying bills - organising contractors and other third party professional support including therapists and care staff for clients; - responding to emergency situations for clients and working to resolve these issues in a timely, friendly and supportive manner, taking account of the specific needs of individual clients - preparing reports; - Balancing accounts; - providing recommendations to the appointed deputy about ad hoc financial requests, budgets, changes in circumstances and generally liaising with incapacitous clients to ensure they are able to live their life well. *** - Previous experience of being a Court of Protection caseworker is not essential but previous experience of managing household budgets, understanding and overseeing investments, managing property sales and purchases and arranging works to be undertaken to properties are essential skills.
