We are looking for a clinical data and audit professional with leadership experience to join the Clinical Directorate and lead our Clinical Audit and Informatics team. You will be joining the Trust at an exciting time as we have just launched our new strategy: Great Care, Great People, Great Partner. Working across the organisation you will be responsible for a programme of work encompassing all aspects of clinical audit and clinical effectiveness, including responsibility to set and deliver our clinical audit plan. You will work alongside senior clinicians, the patient safety and QI team, operational managers, and our Business Intelligence team to develop and improve our clinical data analytics and informatics function, support our work in identifying and reducing health inequalities and improving patient outcomes, and be responsible for the provision of clinical information the Trust needs to develop and achieve its strategic goals.
**The Head of Clinical Effectiveness will**:
- Be responsible for supporting the clinical information needs that enable the Trust to develop and achieve its strategic goals, driving continuous clinical improvement focussed on patient outcomes and reducing health inequalities across the whole patient journey through urgent and emergency care.
- Be accountable for leading, planning and delivery of clinical audit to support and inform the patient safety improvement work streams across the organisation in partnership with clinical leads and external with other providers or organisations.
- Be responsible for the delivery and implementation of the Trusts annual clinical audit plan ensuring adherence to National and Regional guidance and the Trusts strategic priorities for quality, safety, and clinical effectiveness.
- Provide leadership to the Clinical Audit team, working proactively with all team members to support the development of their skills, encouraging a focus on accuracy and attention to detail striving for excellence in all activities within the team’s area of responsibility.
- Work with the Head of Business Intelligence (BI) and the ICT systems teams to lead the continued development of a clinically focused, evidence-based analytics and informatics service including the development of the Trusts electronic patient record system, use of the ambulance data set and SNOMED CT codes, to ensure information systems support delivery of best practice clinical care.
