Responsibilities:
Having recently left a larger group and re-gained our independence we are looking to recruit a Bookkeeper to join our team and help us with our administration and accounting needs as they develop over the coming months.
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into the company’s industry standard Merlin accounting software;
- Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure;
- Paying supplier invoices and tracking bank account balances;
- Preparing VAT returns;
- Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting management of discrepancies;
- Recording any inconsistencies to assist management reconcile inaccuracies;
- Developing monthly financial statements including P&L, balance sheets and cash flow analyses;
- Preparing employee payroll data for submission to payroll bureau;
- Managing employee expense claims;
- Assisting the manager with administrative duties and the preparation of annual financial statements
**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Proven bookkeeping experience with a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles;
- Computer literacy, especially familiarity with spreadsheets and accounting software;
- Good attention to detail when entering data into financial records;
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting data with accuracy;
- Multi-tasking and organisational skills to manage different financial duties, including the ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines;
- Interpersonal and customer service skills for dealing with work colleagues, suppliers and customers;
- Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial matters in accessible terms;
**WORK HOURS**
This position is likely to appeal to an individual with the technical skills necessary to undertake this role but who is looking to work on a part-time/flexible hours basis sufficient to meet the requirements of the job.
**REMUNERATION**
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
