Great Bear is a leading 3rd party UK logistics business providing nationwide dedicated and shared user warehousing and distribution solutions for international blue chip clients.
We operate in excess of 9 million sq. ft. of warehousing and operate a large modern commercial vehicle fleet, coupled with an extensive added value service offering.
Following three years of accelerated growth, we are now seeking a fully skilled Technician to join our team in Bardon on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Skilled Automation Engineer, you should be able to work on a shift pattern covering both days andnights to help the Maintenance team in the efficient running and operation of all the automated and most mechanical equipment on site.
Rotating Shifts: Monday-Friday; 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
Responsibilities of a Skilled Automation Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining the automated storage facilities, building services, along with some aspects of the MHE Fleet
- Completing repairs and maintenance checks on robotics and conveyers
- Investigating breakdowns and initiating repairs on a variety of equipment
- Providing support to other team members to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum
- Ensuring that records of spares are kept up to date and ensuring the Facilities Manager is aware of any non-conformances with off the shelf parts
**Qualifications**
- Engineering skills of all disciplines relating to automation and general machinery
- The ability to use all types of tools and equipment
- Knowledge and experience within welding
- Competency using Warehouse Management systems
- Strong attention to detail with effective communication skills
- The ability and proven experience of working in a fast-paced environment
