TSR Legal are delighted to be working with a Top 100 law firm who has an opportunity for a Tax and Trusts Assistant in Bath.
The main aspect of this role is to earn fees by carrying out technical & administrative work within the Tax & Trust team, under the direction of the Department Head.
**Duties will include**:
Assisting with the personal tax compliance for a mixed portfolio of clients including sole-traders, individuals, deputyships and estates
Preparing and submitting Capital Gains Tax computations and reports to HMRC on behalf for UK individuals, estates, trusts and non-UK resident clients
Administration of existing non-complex trusts including liaising with trustees, beneficiaries and third parties, attending annual trustee meetings and preparation of trust accounts
Dealing with the compliance obligations for trusts
Raise personal profile and attract delegated work; take responsibility for aspects of Business Development projects within the department
Build effective working relationships in the team
Participate in projects and support the Private Client team by being flexible and adaptable
Continue to learn and develop, seeking feedback to build on skills and behaviours
Manage time recording, WIP monitoring and billing consistently on own files and matters
Work toward personal and team KPIs, measuring performance against these
Ensure understanding of the department's strategic goals and set own personal activities/objectives to align
Seek to understand the external legal sector and market
Put forward ideas for business improvements and innovation. Offer to assist in the implementation of changes and improvements
Skills, Experience and Attributes
Experience of dealing with tax compliance work for either individuals or trusts
A view to progress your career within the Tax and Trust team
