We are recruiting for one Level 4 Digital Accessibility Specialist Apprentice in Exeter, with some flexibility on location.

**Job description**:
As a Level 4 apprentice, your starting salary will be £17,250 in Year 1, increasing to £17,350 in Year 2. You will have the opportunity to spend up to 27 months working with our People Development and KIM Teams, and others across the Met Office, enabling us to embed digital accessibility in everything we do.

This post is for a fixed term period of up to 27 months and is part of a formal apprenticeship programme.

When would the apprenticeship start and how does it work?

We would look for you to join us in September with your apprenticeship training beginning the same month. Options for flexible working patterns are available, but you will be required to dedicate the equivalent of one day a week to off-the-job training with the registered training provider.

As our Level 4 Digital Accessibility Specialist Apprenticeship, the key duties are:

- To provide advice on accessibility best practice, helping the Met Office to meet organisational, national and international accessibility standards and to work with others to help ensure an inclusive user experience and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Collaborate with others (internally and externally) at all levels to provide guidance on accessibility best practice helping us to meet organisational, national and international accessibility standards and guidelines to ensure an inclusive user experience and compliance with relevant legislation - essential criteria.
- Raise awareness of digital accessibility via multiple channels and methods (for example presentations, workshops, focus groups, personal and organisational documentation and training) on both digital accessibility standards and assistive technologies (both software and hardware-based).
- Provide advice and assistance to colleagues across the organisation on how to create accessible information assets (digital or non-digital), communications and materials.
- Seek and collate feedback and analyse issues and risks that act as barriers to the use and/or deployment of assistive technology and/or the creation of accessible information assets.
