Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Anti-Financial Crime Associate to join our EMEA Compliance team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. Based in London and reporting to the Head of Anti-Financial Crime, this role is critical in supporting the ongoing development and execution of TP ICAP’s Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Framework across the region.

Role Responsibilities- Assist the Head of AFC and Senior Associate in day-to-day oversight and execution of key controls.- Review Customer Due Diligence (CDD) escalations and queries from the Client Onboarding (COB) team; perform quality control reviews of onboarding and periodic review cases.- Perform AML and CDD control testing operated by the First Line of Defence to ensure effectiveness and adherence to standards.- Help design and roll out new controls in high-risk areas such as Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Sanctions, and Transaction Monitoring.- Provide expert support and practical guidance to the First Line, including assisting with procedures and training on AML/CFT expectations.- Contribute to the production of monthly, annual, and ad-hoc AFC Management Information for senior stakeholders.- Review and respond to queries related to Gifts & Entertainment in line with policy.- Support the operation and oversight of sanctions controls to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory obligations.-
- Collaborate on cross-functional AFC or regulatory initiatives as needed.

Experience / Competences

Essential- Proven knowledge of UK Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and Financial Crime risk management principles.- Prior experience working in Wholesale Financial Markets, preferably in an AFC or Compliance function.-
- Experience conducting quality control reviews, control testing, or internal audits relating to financial crime.- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements.- High attention to detail, well-organised, with a proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving.- Confident handling of sensitive or complex Gifts & Entertainment or Sanctions issues.- Collaborative team player with a mindset of continuous improvement and professional integrity.

Desired- Experience supporting or implementing controls in areas such as Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Sanctions, and/or Transaction Monitoring.- Familiarity with preparing Management Information (MI) and performance metrics for AFC oversight.- Background in providing training or guidance to the First Line of Defence or operational teams.- Exposure to ad-hoc projects or change initiatives with a financial crime focus.- Working knowledge of systems such as Fircosoft, WorldCheck, or similar screening tools.- Relevant qualifications (e.g., ICA Diploma in AML, ACAMS certification) or a willingness to work toward one.
