**Finance Director**
Pinpoint Resourcing are currently partnered with a large construction company who are seeking a strong Finance Director who has experience of liaising directly with both MD and board of a large national business.
**Reporting to**:Divisional Finance Director and Managing Director southern division.
**The Role**:
The Finance Director will be a key member of the business unit’s leadership team and will be a Business Partner for the Managing Director. The role will be responsible for working closely with the MD and leadership team to develop and implement businessunit strategy, own the financial forecast and provide insight and challenge to the Senior Management Team.
**Overview**:
- Working as a member of the Senior Management Team for the business unit
- Perform as the lead financial resource for the business unit (fast growing business with high growth and a number of significant joint ventures)
- Significant interaction and joint working with the Development, Commercial, Sales and Construction teams
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Business partner the Managing Director and other regional Board directors, providing robust business and performance insight and challenge
- Preparation of financial business plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Oversight of all financial reporting for the business unit - review and challenge of month end outputs, balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts
- Monitor KPIs to identify areas of concern or opportunities to ensure the business achieves its financial and non-financial targets
- Review and challenge all aspect of Development Appraisals, including all costs and revenue streams, and ensure risks around margin recognition and WIP recovery are highlighted and managed
- Support due diligence on land acquisitions and new business in terms of strategy, financials, structure, review of legal contracts and financial reporting implications, including preparation of technical accounting papers where required
- Weekly review of the cashflow forecast
- Promote and ensure that there is a robust financial control environment in place at all times across the business
**Knowledge and Skills**:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA with a Big 4 background) with a minimum of 5 years PQE
- Relevant commercial experience gained in industry as well as a strong technical acumen (including understanding of IFRS and joint venture accounting)
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to express financial results articulately at multiple levels up to Board level
- Effective communicator both with finance and non-finance professionals
- Drive and ambition are essential to the role
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office with Excel at an advanced level
**Salary + other information**
- Base salary of between £100k and £125kdepedning on experience
- Above market rate bonus scheme
- Generous pension and car allowance amongst other generous benefits
