SLAB was set up in 1987 to manage legal aid in Scotland. We are a non-departmental public body responsible to the Scottish Government. Our main purpose is to manage and continuously improve publicly funded legal assistance and to advise Scottish Ministers on its strategic development for the benefit of society.

**About the role**
The People Consultant will support the People & OD team with case management. The role holder will be an integral member of the team with responsibility for ensuring SLAB’s workforce are supported, informed and empowered to make decisions through an advisory and supportive service. Each day will likely be different so an in-depth understanding of general people related processes and policies will be required to succeed.

The role involves advising and supporting staff and managers on all employee relations issues, including performance management, health and wellbeing, sickness and absence, conflict resolution, equality and diversity, dignity at work, investigations, and disciplinary and grievance procedures. You will work independently managing a diverse workload with competing priorities and should have good knowledge of employment legislation and the ability to deal with difficult situations.

This post is a fixed term contact (18 months) on a full time basis.
