**More about the role**:

- Building the sustainability & compliance strategy & roadmap, short, medium and long term and project plan.
- Leadership and participation in multiple net zero workstreams with specific ownership on the procurement agenda
- Develop, coach and lead a high performing sustainability and compliance team
- Consistently inspire delivery across numerous Foodbuy departments to enable positive change across the ESG remit
- Ongoing collaboration and communication with a multitude of key stakeholders at all levels
- Manage the development and implementation of systems & processes to measure performance & drive continuous improvement across the sustainability and compliance operation
- Actively engage & collaborate with suppliers to understand & monitor their sustainability strategies & net zero roadmaps
- Proactively manage supply compliance and performance in collaboration with the Category Teams, via robust supplier onboarding, auditing, ongoing monitoring and analysis.
- Launch a supplier performance scorecard across the supply base to measure performance and improve KPI’s driving accountability and continuous improvement across multiple areas
- Engagement with clients with the sales & account team to create & deliver value

**Who you are**:

- Procurement expert with a strong understanding of the Foodbuy Procurement Framework
- Knowledge of the supply base & supply chain with an understanding of key food category ‘hot spots’ being essential
- Extensive experience of complex supplier, distributor and client management
- Experience leading a high performing commercial team and delivering results
- A strong decision maker, with great commercial acumen
- A resilient leader who works well under pressure
- Solid analytical skills, with an ability to manage and interpret data to make effective decisions
- Ability to influence senior level stakeholders
- A dynamic & creative leader that can define a long term vision for success whilst delivering tangible progress short, medium & long term

**What you'll be doing**:
Foodbuy is a leading food procurement organisation based in the UK. With over £1bn of managed spend, we bring together the widest range of foodservice and hospitality clients on the planet to buy food, and everything associated with it. We work closely with our clients to deliver expert procurement services saving them both time and money and enabling them to focus on what really matters to their businesses.

We are looking for a Head of Sustainability & Compliance who will have responsibility for leading and building out the Foodbuy supply chain strategy for sustainability & compliance.
This is a newly formed, high profile leadership role within Foodbuy as we embark on the next phase of our exciting and essential sustainability journey. The main purpose of the role is to define & transform the way Foodbuy operates when it comes to sustainability and supply chain compliance to ensure the Foodbuy supply chain delivers against the sustainability strategy including the 2030 Net Zero commitment, manages risk and continues to drive the high standards required to protect the reputation of the supply chain.

The Head of Sustainability and Compliance will need to work extensively and collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders across all Foodbuy functions, Compass sectors, external clients and the Foodbuy supply base to deliver the strategy.

The role will be key in setting the blue print on how we achieve net zero across our entire supply chain (£1bn) in the next 9 years, reviewing every stage of our supply chain, our sourcing process, success criteria & how we measure performance.
This role will be integral to the 3 year Foodbuy strategy in how we continue to create & deliver value to our clients and grow our volumes. Extensive engagement and collaboration with the Foodbuy Exec, senior Compass Group & UK & I stakeholders including exec members will offer exposure and the ability to influence change. This is a hugely exciting senior role with an opportunity to make a real difference not only in Foodbuy, Compass and our clients but given our scale, on the planet.
