Kitchen Assistant - Catering

TERM TIME WORKING ONLY

As a kitchen assistant your role will be to become a key part of the catering team delivering the highest standard of school catering, front of house service both daily and at hospitality events.

We are searching for someone who is conscientious, flexible, polite and helpful, able to work calmly under pressure in a busy school kitchen environment. You will work under the direction of the catering manager. You must be able to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and excellent customer service.

This job would be perfect for someone looking for term time only work, as part of this role you will not be required to work during the school holiday weeks.

On a daily basis you will be helping prepare and serve meals to pupils, staff and parents, washing up and cleaning the kitchen and dining room.

You will be a much valued member of our friendly team who is reliable, dependable and committed to working 20 hours per week 5 days (Monday to Friday)

You will work independent school TERM TIME weeks only, you will receive equal monthly payments throughout the year (over 12 months), for this you will be paid £11.50 per hour.

**Salary**: £11.50 per hour

**Duties**:

- Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and assembling dishes.
- Assist with plating and presentation of food.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in organizing and cleaning the kitchen area.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
