**We will provide**
- Starting salary £22,500 rising to £25,000 at the end of Year 2 in role

**PROFILE**
You will be working with a range of children aged 10-17 across Derby City and Derby County that have displayed violent behaviours or risk of being involved in violence as part of an exciting youth project.
This role includes a combination of the below:
- A range of mentoring support including intensive in person support for children referred to the project involving family support and addressing conflict within the home encouraging positive/supportive familial relationships. Shorter mentoring support is also available with delivery from our list of Intervention programs, focusing on themes such as Child Criminal Exploitation/Weapon Awareness/ Hate Crime/ Managing Healthy Relationships and Online safety.
- Each child will undertake a needs assessment and create a bespoke support plan with their mentor to focus on matters specific to them and their families.
- The mentor will require good relational skills to motivate and support service users and to work alongside professionals within police, social care, schools and youth justice, attending professional meetings and building good professional relationships as they jointly support the children referred.
Examples of our **mentoring**will include both emotional and practical support, with a focus on:
- Identifying underlying issues/needs associated with their behaviour and building joint support plans
- Partnership working with a range of professionals
- Resolving any accommodation issues and family relationship issues
- Supporting and encouraging individuals to form/engage in healthy relationships/friendships with family members and peers.
- Supporting children/young people to access and engage with Education Training or Employment
- Attending Multiagency Meetings
- Supporting children to repair harm, directly with the victim or community - through restorative justice and/or reparation.
This is not an exhaustive list, and we will work with you to develop ways in which to identify the individual child’s needs.
You will be working on a fully flexible basis to suit the availability of the children and their families, as a result, can expect the possibility of some weekend working.
