- Looking for a career in social care?- We are looking to recruit a Relief Male Support Worker for a service in Bedlington. It is essential you are a car driver and have a full driver's licence. Waking Night shifts are included in the weekly hours, once you have completed your induction.- We provide you with a full induction programme including shadowing shifts to ensure you are confident within your role.**What does a typical day look like?**
- The Person We Support (PWS) lives in his own bungalow in a quiet cu-de-sac, and receives two to one support from staff during the day.- The shifts are 8.45am till 7.30pm and 9.15am till 8pm this allows the PWS to be supported out in the community by his staff on duty that day in his mobility car.- He enjoys going to different locations in the local area this includes his favourite cafe at South Beach Blyth where he enjoys talking to both the staff and regular customers that he meets there in the cafe.- The PWS also enjoys doing different activities both in the community and also his Bungalow.- The PWS requires support with personnel care, finance and medication, during the week he also requires support to different medical appointments.- When the day staff finish the PWS is supported by one member of staff on a Waking Night shift from 8pm till 9am, during the night PWS will need support to go to his bathroom.- No new staff work on the Waking Night shift until they have completed their induction and received full training in all aspects of personnel care.Have you thought about working for Mencap?
