**The Company**

Alt-Berg boasts a strong reputation for supplying footwear to various sectors. Our focus on quality and well-fitting boots has earned us a prominent place in the market. We operate through diverse channels, including contracts, B2B, and direct sales.

We are expanding our team at the Richmond factory and are seeking individuals eager to learn and grow as bootmakers. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll contribute to the production of specialist boots for Military, Police, Motorcycle, and Walking.

The role is 'hands-on', with experience to be gained in various stages of the bootmaking process. An experienced sewing machinist - as well as sewing footwear 'uppers' you will also be involved in cutting, preparation, finishing, and dispatch processes - with the possibility of working in other areas of the business too, such as the factory shop, offering our specialist fitting service to customers.

**The Person**

We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn new skills, and excellent face-to-face and written communication abilities. Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask are crucial. While prior experience is not necessary, sewing machine skills, and any background in a workshop or factory environment could be advantageous. The role requires working with hands, collaborating within a team, and the flexibility to work independently.

Training will be provided on the job, ensuring you acquire the skills needed to excel in bootmaking.

**Hours of Work**

37.5 hours a week spread over 5 days (details to be discussed).

**Rate of Pay**

Above the living wage.
