Speech and Language Therapist

Job Introduction
We are looking for a **Band 7, Speech and Language Therapist** to join our friendly Therapy team in a community role within **West Lancashire**. Our team provide communication, dysphagia and voice assessment therapy and support to adults with acquired difficulties and to their carers.

There are both **full and part time roles available** within the team to suit you, with the opportunity to complete any administration duties at home to help you to achieve work/life balance. **The team operates Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm (with a mix of varying start and finish times) with no bank holiday or weekend working.**

Main Responsibilities
Your caseload will be varied and will include exposure to dementia, dysphasia, other long-term neurological conditions, voice disorders and stroke patients. Your patients will be based within different settings depending on their needs, this includes care homes, patients’ home, and outpatient clinics across the West Lancashire area.

**Within this role, you will**:

- Spend approximately 60% of your working week patient facing and 40% attending meetings, administrative duties and managing the team (your 40% non-patient facing tasks could be completed at home)
- Ensure a high standard of patient care is provided, implementing, and reviewing clinical standards relevant to the work undertaken.
- Carry your own caseload inclusive of a wide range of conditions
- Be willing to undertake further training and development
- A qualified speech and language therapist and has an active registration with the HCPC
- Experience of leadership/managing a team
- You will have experience in neurological conditions and undertook dysphagia training
- Experience with patients with Head or Neck Cancer
- As this is a community role, you will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to complete your role in the community.
