Equine Groom Apprentice

New apprenticeship position for a horse lover to join a friendly team at a well established full livery yard for 18 horses, covering all aspects of horse care. The successful apprentice will be paid and also complete their level 2 equine apprenticeship qualification.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual looking to develop their skills in horse care. You will work alongside our current team handling and caring for our horses. All aspects of horse care will be covered, perfect for anyone looking to get into the industry.

Duties include:

- Mucking out
- Yard duties
- Turning out
- Tacking up
- Assisting at competitions
- Feeding
- Riding and lunging
- Helping with Livery clients/ horses

**Desired qualifications**
- English and maths GCSE’s, or equivalents, are desired
- Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care to be eligible

**Future prospects**
- Current yard manager trained with KEITS and is still with the employer

**Training**
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.

**Salary**: £5.28 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
