**Job Overview**
Higham Hall College is a busy residential adult education college between Keswick and Cockermouth that welcomes over 3.500 students over 50 weeks a year. We offer lifelong learning in the form of practical and lecture-based short courses, workshops and lectures in the arts and humanities. Occasionally our housekeeping team requires additional support to cover staff holidays and sickness or just help with busy days.

We are looking for conscientious and friendly individuals who would be interested in picking up occasional shifts (these are usually Fridays and Sundays but could be any other day of the week) to join our bank staff team.

You will be working with a team of 4 other housekeeping staff to help us to maintain high standards of cleanliness and order in our characterful historic building. You must be willing to assist colleagues or members of the public with other tasks as needed and have a friendly and approachable attitude. We strive to provide a welcoming and supportive environment both for students and staff.

**Duties**
- Perform cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces.
- Ensure all rooms are well maintained and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Adhere to health and safety standards while performing cleaning duties.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to requests and inquiries in a friendly manner.
- Manage time efficiently to complete tasks within designated timeframes.
- Assist with laundry services as needed.
- Assist with preparation of classrooms.

**Skills**
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with clients and guests.
- Ability to drive may be beneficial for roles that require travel between locations.
- Proficiency in English to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail in all cleaning tasks to ensure high standards of cleanliness.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: £11.53 per hour
