**Company Secretarial Assistant/ Central Secretariat - Senior Associate**

The role-holder will work alongside team members acting as the secretariat for one or more of the FCA's senior executive committees, and/or the FCA or PSR Board, or committees. They will work closely, and build and maintain strong working relationships,with key stakeholders across the FCA and PSR, including the Chief Executive and Executive Directors and their offices, the PSR Managing Director, the Chairs of the FCA and PSR, Board members, the Company Secretary, and staff members across both organisationswho provide input to the executive and Board committees. They will help to ensure that the committees are able to make reasonable, risk-based and outcome-focused decisions. In addition, they will be involved in broader governance and compliance tasks withinthe secretariat and division, managing priorities and delivering change, working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.

The key responsibilities of the post-holder will be:

- Acting as secretariat to one or more of the FCA's senior executive committees and/or the FCA and PSR Boards and committees
- Ensuring that procedures are in place for managing meetings, that these are followed, kept up to date, and are in line with governance best practice
- Notifying changes to Companies House records as required
- Contributing as required to the drafting of sections of the Annual Reports (including parts of the Directors' Report and the Corporate Governance Statement)
- Participating in and leading projects
- Delivering induction programmes for new team, Board and committee members
- Keeping up to date with and providing advice on governance issues

**Skills and Experience**

**Minimum**
- Company secretarial and/or governance experience, including supporting boards and senior decision-making committees
- Minute-taking experience
- Excellent stakeholder management skills (at a senior level) and ability to establish credibility

**Essential**
- ICSA qualified or student, or equivalent
- Ability to deliver high quality governance support to the Boards and committees, engendering a spirit of continuous process improvement
- Very strong written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to adapt style depending on audience
- Sound attention to detail - can demonstrate taking pride in work and ensuring it is of the highest standard
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and negotiation skills
- Discretion and the ability to gain others' trust
- Ability to ensure compliance with requirements to maintain and protect information appropriately in accordance with the FCA's Cyber & Information Security policies
- An ability to respond positively to change, adopting a flexible approach to new ideas, assignments and approaches.

**Desirable**
- Knowledge of the legal framework in which the FCA and PSR make decisions (eg. FSMA, Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013, Schedule of Matters Reserved to the Board, the CEO delegations, Decision Procedure and Penalties part of the FCA Handbook,etc)

This position of Central Secretariat - Senior Associate (Company Secretarial Assistant) is based in London within our Corporate Job Family.

Salary £43,000 - £64,000 per annum + benefits package

The FCA is currently trialling a new hybrid way of working, requiring colleagues to spend 40% of their time in the office each month until the end of July. This trial period will allow us to identify the most appropriate balance of hybrid working, enablingus to benefit from the best of both working in an office environment and remotely.

This follows an extensive, wide-ranging and comprehensive consultation with all FCA colleagues and the FCA's Staff Consultative Committee. The changes, including updates to the proposals consulted upon, will mean that the FCA continues to provide one ofthe best reward packages of any regulator or enforcement agency in the UK.
