**Advert for Band 6 - Squirrel Endocrine and Metabolic**

Do you have experience in caring for children with Endocrine or Metabolic conditions or is this something you would be interested in us supporting you to explore?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for qualified Band 6 paediatric nurses to join our friendly and welcoming team on Squirrel Endocrine and Metabolic Ward. We are looking for nurses with leadership experience, who seek to deliver high quality care to children and young people.

Excellent time management, organisational and decision-making skills are essential along with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team, rotating day and night shifts. The unit supports staff to further develop their leadership skills and clinical knowledge as well as promoting individual development.

Squirrel Endo/Met Ward is a busy area with 8 beds, specialising in endocrinology and metabolic medicine. The patients are often very highly dependent, requiring frequent blood sampling and complex intravenous infusions. We would support you to develop your high dependency skills within the speciality. We care for a variety of children and young people with complex healthcare needs requiring both long and short term admissions. We care for a diverse age range of patients from new-born to 18 years, but the main age group would be neonates to toddlers. Some of the conditions are incredibly rare and interesting and you would learn lots of specialist and transferable skills.
