**Personal Assistant (PA)/Support Worker**

**About the Direct Payment Holder**

An active young man in his early thirties with autism, and an anxiety disorder is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Personal Assistant (PA) to provide 1:1 support.

**Hours and rate of pay**

Flexible, with potential for 1-2 days a week and weekend shifts; shifts are typically from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm with sleeping nights from 9:00 pm to 8:00 am

£12 -£18 (Depending on days and hours)

Confirmation of DBS check

Right to Work and references will be needed.

**Training**

Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:

- Safeguarding Adults
- Introduction to first aid
- Health and Safety
- Individualised training with will be given including on autism and the use of Behaviour Support Plans.

**What you would be doing**

**Community Access**: Take him out to various community activities such as shopping, cinema, gym, swimming, walking, cycling, trampolining, and other outdoor pursuits.

**Hobbies and Interests**: Support his interests in toys, bike rides, trampolining, and swimming. Engage in activities like visiting toy shops and exploring new places.

**Life Skills**: Assist with daily tasks such as menu planning, shopping, meal preparation, and cooking.

**Household Tasks**: Help with general housework, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, ironing, and changing bed linen.

**Behavioural Support**: Provide support and promote coping strategies during challenging behaviour episodes, with full training provided.

**Required skills and experience**

**Driving**: Must have a clean driving license and be confident driving a Motability vehicle.

**Experience**: NVQ Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent required. At least one year’s experience working with adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities.

**Personal Qualities**: Integrity, honesty, conscientiousness, initiative, and teamwork. A passion for supporting those with Autism and Learning Disabilities to lead fulfilled lives. A willingness to learn and share expertise.
