**TSE Reference Laboratory Science Team Leader**

**About the role**

You will work alongside veterinarians, pathologists and scientists to contribute to APHA’s research and surveillance of Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSEs). In this diverse role, you will provide scientific leadership to the TSE National ReferenceLaboratory (NRL) and the Biological Archive Group (BAG) to enable the delivery of statutory and policydriven functions. You will oversee and maintain quality accreditation to ISO17025, plus certification to ISO9001 for the TSE NRL and BAG teams.

**About you**

Together with a Biology degree or equivalent, you will have a good understanding of TSEs, disease surveillance, research and, ideally, working with zoonotic pathogens. Experience in immunodetection tools will be essential, as well as the ability to provideauthoritative reports, and communicating scientific data to a range of audiences, at national and international levels. You will need to be a good communicator and team player, motivated and able to juggle a range of priorities.
