Shorterm Group are currently working with an Aviation client who are looking to appoint a new Financial Accountant to join their successful business.
As the Financial Accountant, you will provide financial and management information to assist in decision making to enable performance improvement. A fantastic opportunity, well suited to a strong accountant with a driven and ambitious mind-set.

**Responsibilities**:

- Preparation of month end journals, management accounts, monthly balance sheet and cash flow;including month-end and year-end reporting needs
- Monthly accruals calculations, intercompany accounts management and reconciliations, journal postings with an overall view over the General Ledger;
- Ensuring financial statements are prepared in line with accounting standards & group reporting timeframes;
- Supporting the year end audit, working with external auditors;
- Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
- Development of internal accounting processes;
- Intercompany reconciliations.
- Work closely with the Head office on accounting and reporting harmonization, as well as timely response to parent company
- Transactional back-up flexibility for other team members and openness to process AP, AR, treasury entries when needed;
- Management of Accounts Assistant;
- Ad-hoc projects and queries.
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA/ICAEW;
- Strong IT familiarisation e.g. Windows/Microsoft Office/Excel/Sage; ability to learn and
operate accounting packages interfacing with operational systems;
- Practical experience in the UK accounts department, flexibility to work in a dynamic
and evolving working environment;
- Previous experience of managing a team;
Experience with both UK GAAP and IFRS desirable
