- Job description- We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an interest in the Flood Warning Service. The role will involve assisting in maintaining the Flood Warning service. You will act as a support in contributing to incident management by improving access and knowledge to details on potential impacts of flooding.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and workplace adjustments will be available to support you with your incident role
- The team- The flood resilience team provide a flood warning service, plan for incidents, and help co-ordinate the areas response to flood events to minimise impact on life and property. We raise awareness of flooding in areas through campaigns and mailshots and attend events and functions in line with this.
We provide input into incident plans and procedures with external partners and test these through multi agency exercises.
- Experience/skills required- The flood resilience team provide a flood warning service, plan for incidents, and help co-ordinate the areas response to flood events to minimise impact on life and property, we also identify new warning areas.
We raise awareness of flooding in areas through campaigns and mailshots and attend events and functions in line with this. To ensure the public are better prepared to respond to flood events
We provide input into incident plans and procedures with external partners and test these through multi agency exercises, to ensure they respond appropriately to flooding
