An opportunity has arisen to join the general surgery admin, the post holder will be responsible for day to day admin duties. this is a part time position with flexibility on days and hours

Supporting the general surgery pa's in daily duties and supporting the team in ensuring patients are given the best quality of care

To date stamp and prioritise all incoming correspondence, locating patient notes to respond and then deal with promptly bringing urgent correspondence to the PA’s attention at the earliest possible time. Tracking notes to relevant area/s and Consultant/s on Lorenzo as appropriate

To deal efficiently with all patient enquiries by phone, letter or personal appearance, exercising initiative and tact with regard to action necessary. Ensure that all messages are relayed as quickly as possible to the consultant/s and their medical team/s.

To receive blood test results, radiology and other investigative reports, presenting all results immediately to the medical team/s attention for their appraisal. Where requested by medical teams, regularly review office procedures to keep patients, relatives and GP’s informed of results and progress. Ensure results are filed correctly in patients’ notes following any action requested by medical team/s.

Enter computer data in support of the development of clinical information systems within the Trust. Access and retrieve data and information, including Internet based data as required.
