**The Role**
Our Volunteer Ambassadors are passionate individuals who are committed to supporting Forget Me Not Children. - Ability to recognise and source opportunities in your own community and through your own networks
- A flexible and organised approach to work; willingness to complete appropriate paperwork after each engagement
- Ability to travel around your local area (within reason). A clean driving licence is desirable but not essential
- Good presentation and public speaking skills or an interest to develop these skills.
**How many hours will I volunteer?**
Volunteer Ambassadors must be flexible, we ask you’re able to commit approximately 2-3 hours per month, however this can depend on the activities. We also ask that Volunteer Ambassadors commit to at least one year of volunteering due to the cost of training and supporting volunteers, and to help make a real impact, increasing awareness of the charity.
**Benefits**
- A chance to meet likeminded individuals and be part of a close network of volunteers
- Training, resources & on-going support
- Regular updates on Forget Me Not events and campaigns
- The satisfaction of knowing you’re making a positive impact to local families who need the support of their local children’s hospice
- The opportunity to develop a new and existing skills, self-confidence and valuable work experience.
**Support Available**
- Support in developing communication and interpersonal skills
- On-going induction programme
- Support from other Volunteer Ambassadors through meet ups and online groups
- We will provide you with all the appropriate materials that you will need to undertake your role
- You will have a dedicated contact at the hospice who you will work with closely and get to know. They will make sure that you have all the information and training you need and will support you in your role.
You will be required to undergo a DBS check and provide 2 references if successful with this volunteering role.
All our volunteers are encouraged to attend training and volunteer meetings whenever possible.
