We are looking for a Kitchen Porter / Junior Kitchen Assistant to help clean our kitchen and support our cooking staff. This is an entry-level job but if you’re good at it, you’ll be invaluable in making sure our kitchen is always efficient, clean and tidy.

Your responsibilities may include washing pots and pans, keeping floors clean, sanitising food preparation areas and occasionally helping with food prep work. If you think you’ll enjoy the buzz of a busy kitchen, we’d like to meet you

Ultimately, you’ll help our kitchen adhere to health standards and serve our customers faster. As part of the HolmeStores team, you wll receive an equal share of tips based on hours worked.

If you're looking to progress in a career in hospitality, we are keen to train and develop our teams, and there is potential for later promotion to Commis Chef via apprenticeship training if professional development is of interest.

The role is varied and covers a broad range of tasks.

You could be:

- carrying in food deliveries and putting them into store
- washing up, cleaning ovens, dishes, pans and other equipment
- cleaning the floor and disposing of kitchen waste and rubbish correctly
- keeping kitchen walls and work surfaces clean
- bringing food in from the storeroom
- checking sell-by dates and rotating stock
- peeling and cutting vegetables or chopping meat
- preparing simple food
- using machinery such as grinders, mincers, slicers and mixers.

You should be:

- energetic and hard-working
- able to follow instructions
- able to multitask
- a fast worker
- a good team worker
- able to stay calm under pressure.

You should have:

- excellent communication skills
- an awareness of health, safety and food hygiene
- attention to detail.

Keeping kitchen areas clean and sanitized
- Washing all crockery, glassware, cooking tools and utensils quickly and efficiently
- Supporting kitchen staff by taking on food prep tasks

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £7.00-£10.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
