**IN PERSON ROLE** - As our Buyer you will be responsible for sourcing, selecting & negotiating with existing & new suppliers to ensure the best possible products are available for our customers. You will be working closely with our Branch Managers and sales teams to ensure the right products are available at the right time and at the right price.
We are particularly keen to hear from Buyers with a Battery Industry background that are experienced at operating at an international level. This role is **NOT A HYBRID ROLE,** the role is based in our offices in **Bristol**.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules & rebates with suppliers to ensure optimal cost and delivery times.
- Deliver to a sales, margin and stock budget.
- Re-Ordering of all products - working with open to buy, minimum stock quantities in constant liaison with branch managers and field sales teams to ensure key lines are always in stock.
- Working with the Distribution team to co-ordinate all aspects of product purchasing.
- Far East sourcing (FOB, Manufacturing, Quality Control) to ensure products made abroad are built to the highest quality & safety specifications.
- Strengthening relationships with existing product suppliers and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure we are enabling our sales teams to reach their targets.
- Understanding the life cycle of a product in a seasonally reactive business.
- Conduct market research to ensure trends & commercial opportunities are identified.
- Analyse sales data to identify product performance & make informed recommendations for product improvements.
- Visiting suppliers & trade shows
- Proven experience in a Buyer / Purchasing role on an international scale is a must
- This should be within a product based / distribution environment, ideally this will be **automotive parts**, **electrical wholesale** or industrial distribution although this is not essential.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- You should be articulate with excellent communication skills to deliver often complex information to all levels of the business.
- Attention to detail, a sense of urgency and adaptable under pressure are key attributes for this role.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
