Role Specification

**Role Objective**:
To lead and direct the Warehouse Management team in line with the Company’s strategic objectives and supporting the Shift Leader in all aspects of Health and Safety, Operations and People. Ensuring a safe and efficient operation in achieving business targets. You will provide regular supervision and lead by example to a high standard and have responsibility for the team’s delivery, monitoring any issues and responding in a proactive manner. You will ensure policies and procedures are followed, production targets/KPIs are set, achieved, or exceeded, quality standards are met, and costs managed within budget. Working at a senior level across all the operational site engaging at various levels, sharing best practice, and demonstrating a high level of professionalism

**Summary of Role Responsibilities**:

- Responsibility for the day to day management of the shift operational team, coaching and developing team members.
- Be a role model to your team in achieving results, raising performance levels and embedding continuous improvement to facilitate change and efficiency.
- Set, monitor and measure on operational KPIs and completing reports as required to ensure the data supports the operational effeciencies
- Managing perfomance across the entire team. Maintaining a key focus to drive and improve operational efficiencies
- Leading effective health and safety management and be a positive influence in driving a near miss culture reporting, including compliance to all health & safety and environmental legislation.
- Investigate and record details of accidents, dangerous occurences and near miss incidents. Report to HSE where applicable.
- Support the updating of risks assessments, safe systems of work and standard operating procedures, ensuring these are compliant with company standards.
- Assist in the development and improvement of working practices to ensure continuous improvement in operational performance
- Ensure all required appraisals and training plans for operational teams is completed, recorded and updated on the training matrices. Developing succession plans with the leadership team
- Responsibility for stock management procedure adherence and to ensure this is compliant with WMS
- Ensure compliance in all aspects of the customers experience
- Adhere to Company policy and standards
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to ensure all work flow processes are completed on time
- To deputise in the absence of other management colleagues and the shift leader
- Any other duties as and when required

**Person Specification**

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Essential_
- Knowledge and experience of a WMS controlled Warehouse.
- Leading and managing a team within a distribution or operational environment.
- Awareness of Health & Safety and environmental legislation.
- Desirable_
- Previous experience of Manhattan or equivalent warehouse management system.

SKILLS/ ABILITIES
- Leads by example, can be hands on if required, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
- Excellent communication skills
- written and verbal
- Competent IT skills across the Microsoft Office package range e.g. Word, Excel, etc.
- Ability to work well within a team, and take direction from different people and ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Excellent time management and organisational skills who can prioritise workflows to ensure SLA’’s are met
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to recognise talent, develop and promote succession plans
