Patient Transport Liaison Officer

We are looking for a Patient Transport Liaison Officer (PTLO) to join our team. This role is based at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital however, you will be required to cover various sites around Shropshire. The PTLO position is key to help bridge the gap between hospitals and our operations team.
This is a permanent, full time position - 47.5 hour per week (Monday to Friday - 9.5 hours per day, working variable shifts)
**Key Responsibilities**
- Being the point of contact for escalation for your designated Trust if they fall into a bed crisis, patient’s queries, risk assessments among other things.
- Assist crews with complex manual handling tasks.
- Be the point of contact between bed managers and EMED managers.
- Attend meetings on an ad-hoc basis.
- To maintain positive relationships with hospital wards, outpatient units, discharge lounges and bed managers.
- To assist operational managers with issues that arise throughout the day.
- General office duties and other assistance should the need arise.
- Dealing with patient’s enquiries and questions as and when they arise.
- Familiarisation with EMED’s policies, processes and standard operating procedures.
**Health & Safety**
- Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorised enforcement agencies as appropriate or required.
- Reporting immediately any infectious nature or accident incurred by a client, colleague, self or another.
- Understanding and ensuring the implementation of the EMED Health & Safety, Infection Control and hygiene policies, and Emergency & Fire procedures.
- Reporting to the Operations Manager any faulty equipment, or any potential hazard.
- Promoting safe working practice within EMED Group.
**General**
- Contributing to the safeguarding of adults and Children by ensuring you are aware of your role in relation to the EMED’s Safeguarding Policy, taking steps to protects clients from any form of abuse or neglect and use the appropriate reporting mechanisms.
- Adhering to all new, and changes in NHS and Central Government initiatives as and when they are implemented.
- Ensuring that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of work is not divulged to third parties.
- Adhering to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
- Ensuring all equipment is clean and well maintained.
- Carrying out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.
**Quality Assurance**
To ensure good and safe practice in all activities relating to service user care by carrying out systems that are in place to guide, monitor and evaluate care and services provided.
