We are seeking a project Buyer to join us at Devonport, Plymouth where we are the preferred contractor to carry out heavy civil engineering construction in and around the Navy dockyard. This is a major project with long term opportunity in Plymouth for a Buyer.

**Your mission**

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for the following:

- Maintain effective communications with all disciplines within the BAM business and supply chain.
- Preparation, issue and evaluation of material and plant enquiries to support project requirements
- Manage requisition process to ensure orders can be raised with all relevant documentation
- Ensure orders are distributed and approved by relevant authorised personnel
- Work with and provide support to accounts team with any order related queries
- Understand, adhere to, and promote Company Procedures

**Who are we looking for?**

Necessary:

- Previous experience working on a construction project in similar role (Buyer)
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of operating IT systems
- Collaborative attitude
- Awareness of construction commercial law

Advantageous:

- Experience of procurement specific operating systems, e.g. SAP, COINS
- Experience of NEC / ICC form of Contract
