**Location**: a hybrid role - commutable to one of our offices (Tunbridge Wells or Whitstable in Kent)
**Salary**: £35,000 - £45,000 per year depending on experience
**Hours**: Full Time, Permanent. Office hours covering a 35 hour week.
We are looking for an automation tester to research and review appropriate tools and techniques for testing our green-field solution.
- You will be working collaboratively with a dedicated team on a significant project to ensure sprint goals are achieved.
- Participate in agile planning and refinement sessions with project team members. Reviewing project requirements to identify functional and non-functional aspects of stories requiring testing.
- Determine if automated testing is suitable and investigate and recommend and implement appropriate tools and techniques.
- This could include front-end testing for the various browser and device channels, unit or behavioural testing as well as performance and load testing.
- Estimate effort for appropriate tasks to build simple, reliable and reusable and non-brittle automated tests with minimum maintenance overheads.
- Once implemented you will review and confirm automation tests are working correctly, identify and remediate defects as necessary.
- Document the solutions appropriately as part of the overall project and ensure our testing guidelines are also documented and kept updated.
- Share knowledge and experiences with other test analysts across the development teams.
**Essential Skills**
- Understanding of various testing approaches as part of the software testing lifecycle
- Experience in writing test scenarios, cases/scripts to desired levels of detail
- Experience in multi-channel including cross-browser web, mobile device and API testing
- Familiar with a variety of mainstream testing tools and techniques, with the ability to quickly learn and manage all aspects of test tool
- Ability to analyse and process data.
- Use of project tracking and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience with browser automation testing tools, e.g. Selenium IDE & WebDriver or similar
- Experience with browser and device testing and tools such as BrowserStack & Chrome developer tools
- Experience with querying databases, creating and using SQL queries
- Experience with load and performance testing with tools such as SmartBear or similar
- Experience with testing APIs with tools such as Swagger & Postman or similar
- Need to be a proactive team player and result-oriented
- Self-starter working on own initiative
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
