Manchester Surgical Services, an independent provider of NHS care is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individual/s to join our busy administration team based at The Pines Hospital, Sharston. Applications are welcome from suitably experienced administrators/ medical secretaries willing to work as part of a team delivering surgical services. This role is full time but we would also consider part time and job share.

This is a fast paced environment and attention to detail is essential.
- To manage all clinical correspondence from a range of clinical specialities and communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- To co-ordinate the availability and provision of medical and practitioner staff to support patient activity.
- To co-ordinate and be accountable for the flow of patients throughout the 18 week referral to treatment period for elective care.
- To manage the administration of pre-assessment appointments, admission, discharge and the follow up process.
- To type ad-hoc clinical correspondence for TSS consultant activity.
- To safely manage patient information in line with information governance and NHS patient confidentiality.

Primary duties and areas of responsibility
- Co-ordinate the availability and the provision of consultant surgeons and clinical support staff to facilitate care delivery for outpatient and operative care.
- Communicate with clinical staff and hospital operation staff to coordinate the patient journey from first referral to discharge.
- Support the process when required in relation to the investigation and clinical incidents, and complaints in accordance with policies.
- Develop and maintain effective channels of communication with colleagues, Consultant Surgeons, Nurse Practitioners, administrators, and the senior management team.
- Ensure timely, accurate and clear communication is delivered to patients in regards to their pathway of care.
- Manage the patient process from commencement to final appointment in line with patient pathways to meet diagnostic and waiting time targets.

Skill set required

Sound experience of implementing administrative processes with an eye for detail

Ability to learn the management of the 18 week pathways and waiting time targets

Ability to adapt to hospital processes, particularly in relation to waiting lists, theatres and outpatients

Ability to multitask and prioritise a mixed workload effectively and work in a methodical manner

Capable of working alone or as part of a team and with mínimal supervision

Manage and maintain professional staff relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team.

Complete tasks against short time frames and in the required format
- Be able to prioritise workload without direct supervision.
- Good key board skills, a sound grasp of information technology and the ability to learn new systems

Experience
- Previous administrative experience, within the healthcare environment
- Good key board skills, a sound grasp of information technology and the ability to learn new systems
- Experience of working independently.
- Experience of working to strict deadlines

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

**Salary**: £18,600.00-£22,000.00 per year
