**Supervising Social Worker | Surrey Quays, the role has casework in mainly in South, North and East London areas | Full Time | £36,000-£50,000 depending on competency and experience level demonstrated by previous roles**

Synergy Fostering is one of the most supportive independent fostering agencies in London. We are at the start of a search for two experienced Supervising Social Workers in our agency. We are prepared to pay a good salary for the right combination of experienceand passion for the work. We are looking for a high calibre front-line caseworker ideally with some therapeutic and or assessment experience.

Our small team (10 of us) is a mix of cultures and ages but we all have one thing in common, a sense of humour and a professional outlook that means we work for each other and the clients we serve. We can rely on each other to do our best because we areall accountable to each other but we can also rely on each other for support when we ask for it.

**Are you the right person for the job?**
- At least two years post qualifying social work experience that is family related with completed ASYE, valid DBS and HCPC registration. (child-centred)
- Must have more than two years’ experience of in fostering in a supervising social worker role
- Able to illustrate a high level of social work competence and risk assessment skills
- Employment history must include a role held for more than 18 months preferably over two years (loyalty)
- Experience with using electronic systems for case recording (we are a paperless organisation)
- Real-life experiences that add to your theoretical knowledge would be desirable
- Additional fostering-related training especially therapeutic or counselling-related training is very desirable
- Committed to foster parent development

**Your role as aSupervising Social Worker will include, but will not be limited to**
- To carry a caseload of foster families
- To supervise foster carers in accordance with the expectations of the National Minimum Standards 2011, Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011 and Synergy Fostering Policies
- To problem-solve issues and advise and support carers in finding solutions to problems they experience in working with young people during placements
- To maintain records for carers and children in keeping with the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011 and Synergy Fostering Policies and Procedures for use of CHARMs database
- To comply with schedules 6 and 7 of the Fostering Services Regulation, in monitoring and reporting significant events and incidents to Ofsted and the Register Manager
- To prepare reports for Annual Reviews of foster carers’ approvals in accordance with legislation and Synergy Fostering Policies and Procedures and to present each review to the Fostering Panel, as appropriate
- To undertake placement agreement and review agreement meetings and to ensure these occur for all children in placement and that is where support services are provided to a child, that these are of a professional standard and in keeping with Synergy values,Policies and practices
- Contribute to organising disruption and Stability meetings as required
- Support foster carer to take part in the meeting
- Take part in ascertaining areas of work that need to be addressed in Placement and carry out agreed tasks, ensuring the carer carries out their specified tasks.
- Each child or young person must be given the Agency’s Welcome pack on or shortly after the first day of the placement with an explanation of the Agency’s Complaint Procedure
