We have a great opportunity for a Customer Insight Manager to join the team at United Utilities on a permanent basis. The Customer Insight Manager commissions and crafts customer research projects, reviews the collected data, draws insights, authors reportsand makes business-oriented recommendations. They will work with multiple cross function stakeholders to ensure insight drives action that delivers great outcomes for customers.

United Utilities provides water and sewage services to around seven million people in the North-West. Behind the scenes that means, operating enough miles of pipework and sewers to wrap three times round the planet, investing billions of pounds to improvewater and the environment across the North-west, while taking care of some of the most scenic and environmentally sensitive countryside in the region. The business is embracing new technology, thinking outside the box to improve services for their customersand even harnessing the renewable energy potential of the region's water, waste and weather.

**Job Purpose**

**Accountabilities**
- To spot opportunities for insight and aid business owners in identifying and scoping out research needs
- Lead on research and insight projects, working with stakeholders to understand core questions, selecting the most appropriate research methodology and techniques, writing briefs, managing timelines and driving actionable results
- Designing qualitative and quantitative research plans
- Executing ad-hoc reports and undertaking analysis to which you will provide insight from the data and bespoke reports
- Ensure United Utilities get the best value from research suppliers and generate added value
- Supporting the direct delivery of key cross business customer research projects, including future company willingness to pay research and business plan acceptability research
- Responsible for maintenance, adaptation and communication of ongoing UU customer research programmes, in support of the strategic direction of the company
- Driving use of insight within the organisation and making actionable recommendations

**Knowledge and Skills**
- A degree or post graduate qualification
- Significant relevant experience working at a market research agency or client-side insight team
- Wide experience and a good knowledge of customer research & insight practices (both qual and quant), techniques and operational experience
- Experience generating customer insights and converting them into business impact
- Experience of managing a complex program of work, working across cross functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Demonstrate strategic thinking at all levels of the business
- A high level of competence in problem solving and planning. The ability to take a pragmatic approach to planning and problem resolution is essential
- Effective organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Drive and commitment to manage a high workload to meet challenging deadlines.
- Demonstrate skills in analytical reasoning, project management, negotiating, influencing, financial
- Well-developed interpersonal, presentation and communications skills with experience of planning and delivering effective communications strategies

- This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week Monday - Friday
