Curiosity, learning drive and interest in the genomics domain are crucial. Knowledge of modern methods in genomics tools development (minimizers, minhash sketching, etc), and/or real-life experience with sequencing data analysis is a plus.

**The duties.**
- Working closely with members of other teams at ONT to get feedback and stay up to date with the latest and upcoming technological developments.
- Interacting with other data analysts and bioinformaticians in the company, to efficiently use and adapt their tools.
- Preparing clear and comprehensive documentation on the developed software and working with Nanopore and Metrichor Developers to facilitate integration of developed methods to Epi2me
- Planning the appropriate experiments for benchmarking and showcasing developed methods Updating other bioinformaticians in the company on the latest developments and best usage practices

**What we're looking for.**
- Relevant degree or software engineering experience
- Extensive contribution (at least one) real-life codebase
- Strong programming and software design skills
- Firm knowledge of standard algorithms and data structures
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Basic data wrangling and visualisation
- Proficiency in some general-purpose programming language
