We’re looking for a governance officer to join our risk and governance services team and help us make sure risk informed decisions are made across all areas of Co-op. We’re evolving our Co-op and making sure the communities we serve are great places to live. This means we’re investing in our areas of growth and exploring new opportunities to make a difference to our members, customers, and communities.

As a governance officer, it’ll be up to you to make sure we have the right governance in place, so we’re adhering to policy, whilst looking at how we can streamline and make our processes more efficient. In this role, you’ll have a lot to get involved in, helping to bring positive change, and shaping the future of the business, whilst making sure our customers and members are always at the forefront of our decision making.

**What you’ll do**
- maintain the group governance landscape, ensuring that we have the right rigour around our decision making
- provide high quality frameworks and guidance for governance activity
- maintain and continuously improve governance policies, documentation, and procedures
- provide oversight to ensure our governance framework, controls and regulatory obligations are being adhered to
- assist in the arranging and management of periodic governance forums
- plan and maintain the governance calendar
- conduct retro sessions to ensure the purpose of our governance forums is being met, and providing feedback to continuously improve our governance
- use Microsoft Office 365 to find opportunities to make our governance simpler and more effective for colleagues

**This role would suit people who have**
- a good working knowledge and understanding of governance
- experience organising and facilitating forums with colleagues and senior leaders
- great communication skills and a talent for building positive relationships with partners across the business, up to exec level
- experience developing and delivering training covering good governance practice to colleagues
- basic knowledge of risk management frameworks
- a highly self-motivated approach - you’ll be keen to get involved and thrive in a changing business
- experience of owning multiple pieces of work from end-to-end
- great organisational skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- competent across Office365 and PowerBI
