A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced In House Paralegal to join a prominent think tank as a junior Legal Contracts Manager in a high-profile role working on a high-value, global project.
**The role**:
The successful Legal Contracts Manager will be working alongside a Legal Counsel to manage and negotiate the contract processes for a high value and high-profile donor project award (global CEO-focused leadership and training programme). The project is a tieup between this UK think tank and one of the US’s leading international development agencies, and your role will be the oversight and management of a range of key legal contracts, along with BAU legal work when capacity allows.
One of the key aims for this Legal Contracts Manager role will be to help the charity to reduce its contract risk profile by providing creative and pragmatic legal solutions for different types of contracts to be implemented across global partners and thirdparties that the charity will be engaging with under this award.
Whilst this Legal Contracts Manager will sit within the legal team (of 5 people), your stakeholders will be across the charity, within a management consultancy whom they have engaged to deliver with project, and at the US development agency. Your role willinvolve:

- Oversight and management of key legal contracts including framework contracts, training workshop contracts, blended training contracts, novation contracts, partnership and sub-contractors contracts, NDAs and other relevant contracts.
- Providing advice and support to the research teams throughout the contract process, starting with tendering and negotiating through to the eventual contract award and implementation phase. This support will include review, drafting and negotiation of contractterms (there are lots of existing contracts and templates, so you won’t need to draft from scratch)
- Ensuring continuous improvement of the contract process e.g., developing guidance and promoting sound contract management across the business.
- Assessing potential risk aspects in relation to the contracts and advising the business on the same
- Engaging proactively with appropriate contacts at their major donor and all related parties to understand the impact of any changes in contract compliance.

**About you**:

- The successful Legal Contracts Manager will have experience working across the full contract lifecycle, from tender and negotiation to final agreement
- Knowledge of charity law or experience of working in a charity would be advantageous
- Knowledge of donor and regulatory body contract compliance issues would be advantageous
- The ideal applicant
- This role would really suit a confident communicator who enjoys building rapport with people at all different levels
- Ability to work with non-legal staff

**In return**:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experience In House Paralegal to step up into a Legal Contracts Manager position.
You will receive a salary of £35,000 - £45,000, depending on experience and flexible working (their offices are in Southwark, you will be expected to spend a bit more time in the office when you start but once your feet are under the table, the company arereally flexible about where you work).
The Head of Legal and Legal Counsel are both very supportive and will be on hand to work with you on more complex elements of contract drafting and negotiating.
Whilst this role is initially a six-month contract, the legal team as a whole are really busy and the Head of Legal is keen to make the role permanent for the right person.
