This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of an established CAMHS community team who provide specialist support to children and young people in Somerset. The team has links with other local and regional CAMHS Services in addition to external agencies and has a positive reputation for the support they offer.

As part of the team, you willprovide a range of specialist CAMHS assessment and interventions. At the centre will be the goals young people and their families want to work towards. Additionally, you will provide supervision to other members of the team.

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that patients with complex social and mental health needs who are accessing a Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team receive the highest possible standard of care and also to ensure that our CAMHS Apprentice Social Workers and Local Authority Social Work students receive an excellent standard of Practice Education and support throughout their courses and placements with us.

**The post holder will**:

- Provide specialist assessment, treatment, consultation and guidance to the multidisciplinary team in the management of patients with complex social and mental health needs.
- Manage a caseload (approximately 50% of the average team caseload) of complex and challenging young people with knowledge, skills and sensitivity or cases of sufficient risk and profile to warrant an experienced worker.
- Provide Practice Education to Social Work students from partner agencies or universities during their placements with CAMHS, at least one per year.
- Act as Practice Educator for the CAMHS Social Work Apprentices on their side of the County.
- Provide clinical supervision to less experienced Social Workers within the CAMHS team.
- Provide some support to the CAMHS Team Manager which may include referral screening, assessment booking, meeting attendances and consultation to the wider CAMHS teams and professional networks around young people in service.
- Be expected to demonstrate all of the key capabilities of the Experienced Social Worker as outlined within the Professional Capabilities Framework for Social Work.
- Operate with a significant degree of professional independence and demonstrate competence through CPD and achievement of appropriate post qualification awards.
- Chair appropriate meetings to ensure the effective review of plans and make any necessary amendments to ensure the quality of care required.
