An Accounts Assistant / payroll clerk is required by a well-established five-partner Accountancy Firm in Cardiff.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Preparing and processing accurate weekly, fortnightly, 4 weekly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients.
- Pension set-up and uploads.
- Liaising with HMRC regarding client queries.
- Providing support to the Payroll Manager for any payroll-related queries.
- To provide and manage bookkeeping services for individual clients and companies.
- To use various software packages to produce quarterly VAT Returns for clients.
- To report to and work alongside Senior Accountants in the preparation of quarterly returns.
- Assist with public authorities i.e HMRC and Companies House.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Experience in end-to-end payroll.
- Experience of working within practice dealing with multiple clients preferable.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.
- Able to manage a diverse workload and prioritise effectively to deliver to fixed deadlines.
- Prior knowledge of PAYE, NIC, Pensions and statutory payments.
- Prior use of Sage Payroll is desirable (full training and support will be provided).
- Prior knowledge of CIS and P11ds desirable.
- Excellent communication skills.
- IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- You should ideally have a working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage and preferably Iris Accountancy Suite/Timesheets and be IT Literate in Word and Excel and a good knowledge of Accounts and Tax Administration in general including VAT, PAYE, Self-Assessment and Corporate Tax.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £23,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
