Contract: Permanent

Jisc is the UK higher, further education and skills sectors’ not-for-profit organisation for digital services and solutions. We believe education and research improves lives, and technology improves education and research.
Our vision is for the UK to be a world leader in technology for education and research and our mission is to power and empower our members with the technology and data they need to succeed. We know that digital technology has the ability to transform the student experience. We have the experience, expertise and know-how to drive that transformation.
About the role and team:
The role is within data analytics, part of the customer and sector enablement directorate, which focuses on analytics, data and content. The digital capabilities team works to help build digital skills and capabilities across specific product and service offerings. Working closely with the senior consultant (HE), head of digital capability, product owner, as well as the content curation manager, we bring exciting data-driven products to life.
One of our key aims is to build and enhance the data and digital capability of Higher Education (HE), Further Education (FE) and skills and commercial sectors of the UK, at both organisational, staff (teams and individuals) and student levels. Working closely, and in partnership, with our target sectors and customers, is crucial to making this a reality.
Our current product portfolio includes the building digital capability (BDC, for HE, FE and commercial customers) and digital evaluation tool (DET, for FE) services. The Jisc building digital capability (BDC) service launched in September 2018. It includes a service website, a suite of question sets forming a self-diagnostic discovery tool for staff and students, individual reports, curated resources and organisational dashboards. There are a range of support resources and guidance for organisations to make the best use of the service. The service has now grown, and is accessible to both HE, FE and skills sector staff and students looking at improving their own digital capabilities or looking to improve their organisational approaches to digital capability. Recent developments mean the service is now also available to non-educational organisations as well.
Responsibilities will include:
- To work closely with the Senior consultant (digital capabilities) to ensure our products meet the needs of our members and customers
- To provide support to primarily universities (and some colleges) during the piloting, onboarding, implementation, and deployment of digital capability services
- To support and contribute to development of the products including: supporting materials and guidance, collating customer priorities, needs and requirements, and assisting customers to ensure deployment of any feature enhancements
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders / members and/or customers to ensure service delivery is effective
Key Skills and Experience:
- Experience of working in the HE sector
- Ability to work with customers both at pre-sale and supporting onboarding and engagement with products or services
- A good understanding of the general principles and aims of data and digital capability within the education sector
- Demonstrable experience working with stakeholders at a variety of levels, including senior management and leadership
Don’t meet every single requirement?
Why work at Jisc:

You can look forward to a rewarding job with opportunities to develop and make a real difference to the education and research sectors.
We celebrate diversity, embrace our differences and know that this is critical for our success. We work hard to make sure we’re inclusive and we are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. So, if you are great at what you do and share our values, we want to hear from you.
