This is an exciting time for Learning disability & autism practice in emergency and urgent care.

Starting its focus almost 2 years ago we are making great progress with the clinical care and experience people with these diagnosis receive when they contact London Ambulance service emergency and 111 service.

This opportunity to join the London Ambulance Service as the Learning Disability & Vulnerabilities Specialist for a period of 1 year to cover maternity leave. This is a full time post at Band 7. Appointment is expected to be from the 26thJune. We would consider either fixed term contract or a secondment.

Drawing on transferable and holistic skills, you will be responsible for delivering the agreed trust learning disability strategy and work plan along with taking the forward the LD & Autism Strategy. As well as coordinating the introduction of LD & A Training (Oliver McGowan) across the trust.

The work streams of the LD strategy that a majority of your work will entail are
1. Urgent Care/ 111
2. Engaging with the LD community
3. Learning from Deaths for people with a LD or autistic people
4. Education and training
5. Pathways of care
6. Creating accessible environments

This post sits within the safeguarding team. The Team recently scored one of the highest in the organisation on the staff survey with a 100% completion rate.
