**Job Purpose**
- The Community Wellbeing Worker post will involve a particular focus on Mental Health related work, while also supporting on generalised Community Development Work.
- Supporting clients in 1-1, group and event capacity, to enable progression in various areas, such as social and economical development.
- Provide 1-1 wellbeing support, engage and connect service users with culturally sensitive/competent mental health/wellbeing support, as well as report on improvements in wellbeing through internal and external reporting systems (NHS MHDS).
- Promoting the well-being and economic position of members from ethnic minority communities in South Tyneside (and further afield) through support and advice around health and other information, advice and guidance-related matters; working with external professionals and agencies to deliver workshops, groups and activities to support this outcome.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Support CREST’s Mental Health Project, via 1-1 appointments with clients and conducting and supporting in engaging in mental health related support via local links and holistic internal support.
- Supporting CEO and team members in increasing engagement into the charity through community consultation, engagement methods and promotion.
- Providing 1-1 appointments to support the wellbeing of those accessing and linking them to internal and external further support.
- Making referrals for support to external agencies for clients who present with complex/further needs that cannot be met via CREST service offer. **Deliver group sessions and events, that are relevant to the works and aims of CREST.**:
- Make links with external agencies, relevant to community development & mental health with the guidance of the CEO.
- Have a culturally sensitive and competent approach to work relations & ethics.
- Create reports, submit planning and evaluation forms, record work on internal system, write case studies and other reports to evidence your work and monitor successes and lessons learnt.
- Be up to date with new mental health/wellbeing good practice approaches, and install them into work practices.
- Support in covering reception duties within the office such as answering phone calls and welcoming clients, when there is a need. **Work effectively with Microsoft 365 and be familiar with the software’s different features.**:
- Undertake duties outside the premises as necessary.
- Any other duties as commensurate with the role.
This is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and overall business objectives of the organisation. It will also be necessary to attend events out of normal office hours during the week, at weekends or on Bank Holidays, time off in lieu will be offered on these occasions.
**Experience & Qualifications**
- A qualification related to Mental Health, and/or adequate Mental Health-related training, and/or enthusiastic about Mental Health & undertake training relevant to Mental Health & Wellbeing **(Essential)**:
- A qualification in Community & Youth Work **(Desirable)**:
- Previous experience of working within a Community-related role (or similar) **(Essential)**:
- Experience of working with BAME (Black Asian and Minority Ethnic) Communities **(Essential)**:
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 **(Essential)**:
- Experience working with various clients/groups from diverse backgrounds **(Essential)**
