**Hours**: 35 hours per week + 1 Saturday per month

We’re looking for a dedicated and nurturing Children & Young People Advocate to join our team within a refuge setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people who have experienced trauma.
**About the Role**
You will plan and deliver a range of age-appropriate activities that promote emotional, social, and educational development. Working in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Ofsted standards, and safeguarding policies, you will create a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment that enables children and young people to feel heard, valued, and empowered.
Key tasks include one-to-one and group work, risk assessments, supporting educational engagement, and liaising with schools and partner agencies. You'll work closely with the non-abusive parent to ensure holistic support for the whole family, and you'll play a key role in safeguarding and advocacy for each child’s needs.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Plan and deliver inclusive play, learning and therapeutic sessions both in the refuge and out in the community.
- Carry out assessments and create support plans tailored to each child or young person.
- Provide support with educational tasks, homework, and liaise with schools where needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, including progress reports and incident logs.
- Promote and ensure safeguarding practices are always upheld.
- Collaborate with refuge staff and external professionals to deliver integrated, culturally sensitive support.
- Assist with daily care needs, including hygiene routines, where required.

**Please note**: This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
