**Location**: Based from our Bournemouth office at Slades Park Pavilion. Flexible working hours are supported along with an agile working pattern with a mix of home and office based working each week (remote working considered if living within the South West).

- **About the role**

Active Dorset has a contractual agreement with the National Academy for Social

Prescribing (NASP) to deliver the Thriving Communities Programme across the

South West of England. The successful applicant will help coordinate the successful delivery of the programme, which aims to support the development of social prescribing by working with people, places and local systems.

Social Prescribing has transformed how we think about health. It recognises the importance of addressing the wider determinants of health by supporting people to take ownership and control over their own health and wellbeing through a person centred approach. We are looking for a self-driven individual who is happy to work in partnership, building relationships across sectors like arts, nature, health and physical activity to form inclusive networks of voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise

(VCFSE) organisations within the region. This role needs an adaptable communicator who can recognise and respond to the changing needs of a compassionate, diverse and resourceful voluntary sector.

- Support the delivery of the thriving communities programme in the South

West through a mixture of both online and in person meetings and events
- Maintain up-to-date records of regional infrastructure, learning and development opportunities across the South West
- Shout loudly about social prescribing and the benefits it can bring to both individuals and communities
- Build and sustain relationships with a wide range of VCFSE organisations and existing networks across the region
- Provide consultation and guidance to VCFSE sector partners who are aiming to connect with their social prescribing ecosystem and wider health structures
- Create content and manage subscriptions for a thriving communities regional e-newsletter
- Ensure web content for the South West regional microsite is up-to-date, relevant and beneficial
- Engage in relevant national and regional based webinars for learning and development
- Facilitate regional online networks, meetings, workshops and events
- Work with both the NASP communications team and Active Dorset marketing & communications officer to create engaging social content for the benefit of the VCFSE sector and wider stakeholders
- Help to identify areas for improvement within the programme and work alongside the regional lead to problem solve and maximise impact
- Regularly feedback both social prescribing and VCFSE sector insights and learning to the wider Active Dorset team
- Contribute to the future planning and development of the regional workplan
- Deputise for thriving communities regional lead at meetings and events when needed
