Goodfish is keen to ensure that our colleagues and guests in St Asaph have access to a canteen that provides good hearty food with an efficient service that fits with production schedules. The Canteen Operator will be responsible for agreeing plans including menus and prices with our Administrative/Finance Team, and then implementation of those plans with an efficient service to colleagues.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Monthly menu and prices to be discussed with your Line Manager one month ahead (during 3rd week of the month)
- Develop and discuss with your Line Manager the purchasing plan one month ahead including maintaining a Kanban for Cash & Carry items
- Keeping track of stock and topping up through the use of local amenities when needed.
- Operation of cash and card payments
- Set up pre-order service for sandwiches, takeaway meals and buffet services
- Preparation of food for breakfast & lunch services along with additional pre-ordered services
- Provide well thought-through service of breakfast & lunch to enable colleagues to be served & eat within their 15-minute break times
- Maintain current rating standards and seek improvements for our HSE Compliance rating from the local council
- Ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and kept up to date in accordance with food hygiene regulations and Goodfish procedures
- All aspects of cleaning and hygiene in the kitchen area and complying with food hygiene regulation and site procedures
- Maintain clean canteen area (including provision for self-cleaning)
- Clean and fill the vending machines on site
- Provide data e.g. sales/waste to Line Manager for production of basic Profit & Loss Account
- Report any faults, incidents or accidents to Line Manager following Goodfish procedure
- Analyse sales data and implement continuous improvement ideas to improve margins and reduce waiting times
- Measure customer satisfaction by collecting feedback from colleagues twice a year

**PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to listen actively to instructions, guidance and requirements of the Line Manager, Site Leader and Group Director(s), taking time to understand the points being made
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy atmosphere with a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand back and consider what works well and what doesn't - with data from POS to support assertions
- Ability to welcome feedback and act on it
- Good communication skills and ability to deliver great customer service, with a smile
- Experienced catering professional with a range of abilities preferably having previously worked in a small catering operation
- Qualified in the relevant aspects of Health & Safety, Environmental and Food Hygiene regulations for the role
- Have a Level 2 in Food Safety or above
- Commercial awareness of what it takes to provide a great service within set budget and timescales

**HOURS**

35.5 hours per week;
- Monday - Thursday 07.30 -15.00 (includes a half hour unpaid break)
- Friday 07.30 - 13.00

A flexible approach to working the hours required to support our operation is required and will be agreed with the Line Manager.
