**Primary Scope and Purpose for the Technical Director** **Responsibilities for Technical Director** Due to continued growth, my client is seeking to appoint a Technical Director to have overall responsibility for the technical service and commissioning operations that we provide to our clients and in support of our projects & ongoing service contracts. Reporting to the Managing Director, your role will be pivotal in the delivery & deployment of high quality, well-engineered AV/VC/Collaboration projects to our clients and the subsequent service contracts/agreements that support them. Typically, the duties of the Technical Director will include: - Defining an overall strategy for the department both in terms of its current form but also forecasted future and business growth inline with recent premises development but also diversification across various project delivery models i.e. design/build, traditional(tender), client direct etc. - Overall responsibility, co-ordination and supervision of day-to-day operations within the service and commissioning teams. This is to include but not be limited to: - Recruitment, line management, training and development of service and commissioning personnel. - Development of technical strategy, procedures and documentation in line with our quality management accreditations. - Pricing strategy and renewal strategy for service contracts - Pricing structure for commissioning/programming activities - Offsite operations including remote support, pre staging, project documentation etc. - Onsite service, commissioning and control system programming operations - Management of software platforms such as Freshdesk, XiO Cloud etc. - Ownership and upkeep of "The Hive" SOC Ø Responsibility, ownership & documentation of the programming, commissioning, and debugging associated with project delivery and system design. This also includes the employment and assignment of any 3rd party commissioning deemed necessary. Ø Receipt of project handovers from the design team for upcoming projects. Ø Providing technical guidance and prowess to junior members of the team and subcontractors ensuring that standards are achieved. Ø Providing support to Sales & Design teams with product guidance and specification as required / necessary. Ø Recruitment and management of commissioning personnel including implementation and supervision of development schemes/training for associated personnel i.e. AVIXA Ø Providing line management to personnel as per latest Company Organogram. Ø Keeping up to date with the product ranges from our leading manufacturers and ensuring competence with set up and configuration. This is to include standards associated with each device / device type. Ø Pre-staging and documentation of system performance / outcome prior to site deployment/delivery. Ø Client liaison in respect of network-based technologies and associated implications when connecting to the client LAN i.e. Crestron NVX, Dante Audio, etc Ø Maintenance of in-house IT systems. In addition to the practical responsibilities above the Technical Director the following attributes are considered essential: Ø Minimum 5 years' experience working at an AV Integrator, preferably with experience of managing or working within service and commissioning teams. Ø To be an enthusiastic team player capable of meeting deadlines and going the extra mile to delivery fantastic outcomes to our clients. Ø To have/maintain strong knowledge of other manufacturers products. Ø To ensure that health & safety policies are complied with at all times. Ø To act in a professional and courteous manner to customers, suppliers and colleagues. Ø To ensure that personal appearance and any allocated staff appearance is maintained to a professional level and that the company uniform and vehicle is respected and adhered to.
