Employed Vehicle Logistics Driver

SDL Transport is one of the UK’s fastest growing independent vehicle collection and delivery companies. Partnered with some of the largest Dealerships and Fleet Management Companies in the UK, we specialise in moving vehicles between locations or direct to customers across the UK.

Due to our continuous growth we are looking to recruit experienced, fully employed trade plate drivers who are well presented, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to communicate well with others to join our expanding network across the UK on a fully employed basis.

Offering a competitive Salary at a Starting point - £21,000 p.a with 21 paid holiday days.

Experience is not necessary, as all training will be provided. However; you must have good customer service skills, a working knowledge of vehicles, a professional can-do attitude, and strong attention to detail. Our insurance requires you to be aged 25 or over, with at least 5 years driving experience and no more than 6 points on your licence

The Role:
As a vehicle driver, you will join a constantly growing, active and social team, fulfilling your own scheduled route designed by our expert in-house planning team specifically for you.

Your role will involve inspection and movements of a wide range of vehicles throughout the UK, using industry-led SMART app technology, and the opportunity to be a part of an exciting time during the fast growth of this company.

You will benefit from extensive training and work alongside a dedicated operations team who allocate your work load and keep in touch with you throughout the day.

You will be required to complete collection reports via a mobile/tablet app, deliver the vehicle to locations nationwide and submit expenses reports online. For this reason, you must also be proficient in using a Smart Phone, with a high degree of accuracy.

You will plan your own travel between drop off and collections, using your initiative to minimise costs, through choosing the most efficient method of public transport or working with another team member. The best routes will however be offered to you by our handy on-call team of logístical planners.

Person Specification:

- Must be well presented, self-sufficient, strong work ethics, able to handle customers and can deliver a high level of customer service.
- Sound geographical knowledge of the UK and public transport methods (essential)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
- Proven ability to work to deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to work under pressure within an evolving, busy transport company
- Pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Flexible and adaptable

**Requirements**:

- Full UK driving license, at-least 5 years’ experience
- Access to off-road parking, e.g. driveway/garage
- Ensure company policies are communicated and enforced at all times.
- You attend an induction day at our head office in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
